here are two pics of the piece before the shellac burn. and two after. i took one with some shine on it so you can see the finish texture. there are two small spots on the left where you can see some foreign type. the piece, in my mind, was going to be called ‘we were on fire’ or ’once when we were on fire’ … subconsciously, i hope, i layered golden ochre under turkish red (not british red or whatever i called it in the previous post). then covered with black and overfused a bit. then did some shellac with copper mica. i like it both ways, but there was an awful lot of space left on the left hand side and it needed something. had it been an 8 x 10, i would have left it alone. i think i like it.
